Dental Implants

Permanent tooth replacement that looks, feels, and functions like your natural teeth. Single implants to full-arch restoration.

What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a small titanium post that is surgically placed into the jawbone to serve as an artificial tooth root. Once the implant fuses with the bone — a process called osseointegration — it provides a strong, permanent foundation for a custom-made crown, bridge, or denture.

Dental implants are widely considered the gold standard for tooth replacement because they look, feel, and function like natural teeth. Unlike bridges or removable dentures, implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support and help preserve the jawbone by stimulating natural bone growth.

Types of Dental Implants We Offer

Every patient's situation is unique, and we offer several implant solutions to match your needs:

  • Single tooth implants — replace one missing tooth with an individual implant and crown
  • Implant-supported bridges — replace several missing teeth in a row using two or more implants
  • All-on-4 / All-on-6 — a full arch of fixed teeth supported by just four to six implants (learn more on our All-on-4 page)
  • Implant-retained dentures — snap-on dentures that clip onto implants for improved stability

During your consultation, we use 3D cone beam CT imaging to evaluate your bone density and plan the ideal implant placement for the best long-term results.

The Implant Process: Step by Step

Getting dental implants is a multi-step process that typically takes 3 to 6 months from start to finish. Here is what to expect:

  • Consultation and planning: We take 3D scans, review your health history, and create a customized treatment plan.
  • Implant placement: The titanium post is surgically placed into the jawbone under local anesthesia or sedation. This appointment usually takes 1 to 2 hours.
  • Healing period: Over the next 3 to 6 months, the implant fuses with your bone. You may wear a temporary restoration during this time.
  • Abutment and crown: Once healing is complete, we attach the abutment (connector) and place your custom-made permanent crown.

If you need bone grafting to build up your jawbone before implant placement, we can often perform both procedures in the same visit to reduce your overall treatment time.

Cost and Financing

A single dental implant in Houston typically costs between $3,000 and $5,500, which includes the implant post, abutment, and crown. Full-arch solutions like All-on-4 range from $20,000 to $30,000 per arch.

Many dental and medical insurance plans cover a portion of implant treatment. Our team will work with your insurance company to maximize your benefits. We also offer interest-free payment plans and accept CareCredit and Proceed Finance to help you invest in your smile without financial stress.

Frequently Asked Questions

With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime. The implant post itself is designed to be permanent. The crown on top may need to be replaced after 10 to 15 years due to normal wear.

Most adults with good general health are candidates for dental implants. You need adequate jawbone density to support the implant, but bone grafting can often solve this. We evaluate each patient individually during the consultation.

Most patients report that getting a dental implant is less uncomfortable than having a tooth extracted. We use local anesthesia and offer sedation options to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure.

Yes. Even if you have been missing teeth for a long time, implants are often still possible. You may need bone grafting first to rebuild the jawbone, but our team can develop a plan that works for your situation.
